- Description
- The drum was bent over towards the drummer and played with hands only. While three men with short pieces of stick tapped out rhythms on the body of the drum, each simple stick rhythm fitting into the next to build up a complex syncopation. Mayanze drinking songs with a Gayanda drum, hand beaten, the Gayanda being conical, single, open, pegged with 3 sticks tapped on the side of the drum.
