- Description
- The 'Diviner' was a young man dressed in a full cotton skirt, leaving the torso bare, and wide ropes of beads crossed diagonally across the chest. He wore a red silk head-kerchief and was accompanied by a small boy dressed in similar fashion. Although the singers said, at the time, that the name of the song was "Kilumbu" it would appear from the recording that it is more correctly "Kaiyombo." Recorded at the Camp de Nepoko, Elephant Training Centre, Ituri Forest, Andudu. Copied from disc. Two Songs welcoming the Diviner. One wooden cylindrical slit drum, one small conical laced drum and one small bass drum.
