- Description
- "The lion has spots like a leopard. He is a brave fighter." Tribal fighting is still within living memory of the Sukuma and the old songs can still be heard occasionally in the country.Their neighbours still raid them for their cattle and have to be fought off. Why the lion should have spots like a leopard is not clear, except that a young lion retains for a while the spotted marks with which it is born. Fighting song.
