- Description
- This was sung when the late Chief Nyakutolo died and his successor took his place. Although there was only one woman in this group it was clear that they felt her part to be essential as they would not start the song until she arrived. The form of Luvale singing is complex and to an outsider at first appears disjointed but in fact it is well organised and the responses understood and followed by all the people without difficulty. Song at the succession of a Chief, with Chisanzhi bamboo tongued Mbira, 2 struck sticks, bottle and small bell
