- The song is about a man who very much wanted to marry a certain girl; but had not enough cows to pay the bride price for her. So he made up his mind to go and work in order to earn enough money to buy the cows. He did so, bought the cows and married the girl. "Alleluya" is simply a cheerful refrain copied from the Christians. This song gives the impression of having been influenced by the Nguni of the eastern districts of Northern Rhodesia (Zambia) rather than a song of true Lozi origin. Topical song
