- Description
- The line of great hills which run up along the North Western flank of the Lake Nyasa is called Vipya in the south and Vifya among the Tongs in the north. The song refers to the tragic loss of the Lake steamer 'Vipya' in 1947, which was named after the hills, while she was carrying pilgrims crossing the lake to go to Dar-es-Salaam. Lament
