- The slight pauses in the song are the points where the bow of bamboo needed a little more spittle, necessitating its removal from the string. Most simple string lutes of this kind are bowed with a sisal bow, but occassionaly, as in this case, with a short lenght of bamboo, a sliver taken from the outside of the stalk.
