- The singers were Aushi men. The Chief Kazembe XV died shortly after he was installed, died in fact "while he was wearing a good suit and a tie." This led the local people to ascribe his death to magic. They warn his successor, Chief Mashota, not to accept the Chieftainship as he could not be harmed by magic and that would break the run of ill fortune that has struck the house of Kazembe.
