Smith Institute of Ichthyology; No. 20 , The genus Sacura, previously considered monotypic, is shown to comprise four species: S. margaritacea (Hilgendorf) from Japan, S. boulengeri (Heemstra) from the Gulf of Oman, and two new species, S. speciosa from Celebes and S. parva from the Timor Sea. All of the species are illustrated; the two new species and S. margaritacea are shown in colour.
