- Description: This hunting flute melodies improvised by the player as he sits iutside the hut of a dead friend have a strange fascination. They are played, they said, during the burial feast or wake. A woman can be crying in the background as in mourning. The method of blowing this pipe is interesting. The open, square cut end to the bamboo pipe is partly closed by the tongue, the wind being expelled out of the side of the mouth across the edge of the bamboo. The tongue is used to give a vibrato effect but the purity of tone is marred by the strong edge tone. These tunes, they say, are frequently used for lamenting the dead, and the player will sit all night outside the hut of his dead friend, improvising flute tunes throughout the hours of darkness. Ilonge end blown flutes.

- Description: One of the traditional methods of reciting praises in this country is for the reciter to manipulate a marionette, in this case the skin with head and legs of a small civet cat. The animal is decorated with bead necklets and a small bell which can be heard during the recitation by the two men. The leader manipulated the civet cat with his hand inside the skin as a glove puppet. Winiyi is one of the names of the Mukama, the king of Bunyoro (Now Sir Winyi). Praise song, with clapping.

- Description: This song "I go for Cherono" is about a woman who went to fetch a girl called Cherono and was met on the path. When asked what she was doing she replied "Sore cherono". This word Sore "I go for" sounds like the English word 'sorry' and now implies a double meaning, as the English word has slipped into the local language. The girls were doing a jerky little dance as they sang which is reflected in their singing. Children anywhere are usually poor subjects for recording and there are no exception. These two items are included to show how small Kipsigis girls perform Both songs show a possibility of school (foreign) influence. Topical song
