- This is based upon a song used at the initiation of girls and the reference to Manja indicates that part of the ceremony when the officiators carry the initiate on their hands (manja) during the dance. "Snakes come and bite her, ants come and bite her." Indicating disciplines enforced during the initiation. This instrument was without its 17th string. The tuning of the six strings was:- 656, 616, 576, 520, 488, 432. Self delectative songs with Bangwe board zither.
