- Description
- The bag of the elderly is a charming artefact made from a pristine white cloth elegantly adorned with vivid stripes of black material. These stripes are crafted from intricate beadwork, combining smooth, flat beads and overlapping beaded strips that create a rich texture. At the bottom, the bag is lavishly fringed with striking black pearls, while the sides showcase delicate bead fringes that sway gently with movement, punctuated by pompoms that add a playful touch. Four soft cotton thongs emerge on either side, providing flexibility and ease of use. The handle, designed with a flowing river motif, adds an artistic flair, making it a functional and captivating accessory. Traditionally, this bag is carried by older individuals to hold their cherished tobacco, revealing the connection between the craftsmanship of the bag and the rituals of their daily life.
