- Description
- The neckband is intricately designed with six vibrant bead strings, showcasing a stunning array of colours: deep green, crisp white, bold red, rich navy, and lively turquoise. These strings are elegantly secured by white beaded tabs, each adorned with playful pink pompoms that add a touch of whimsy. This unique accessory is traditionally worn by the boys of the AbaThembu community from the Qebe location, particularly during the lively umtshotsho dance, where it symbolises cultural pride and youthful exuberance. Each element of the neckband not only highlights the creativity and craftsmanship involved but also connects the wearer to their rich heritage.
