- Concealment examines the Colonial gaze from a particularly Feminine perspective. Colonialism is seen as an extension of a Patriarchal system which suppressed, negated and violated the conquered "other", be it the original inhabitants of the Colonies or the female population in general which was then commonly regarded as "the weaker sex".
