This is well supported by the statistics (1950); it is said that of 20,000 Tonga of this Chinteche District, 8,000 have left permantely from Southern and Northern Rhodesia and South Africa, another 8,000 are away and expected to return within 5 years, and 4,000 only remain in the country, most of whom will be off again as soon as their money is spent.
