It was a shortened version of the annual training course for advice office workers held in March and April, and was organised for the benefit of new recruits to the Aid Service. The course was attended by a number of T&GWU Aid Service people from the Athlone and Stellenbosch offices, community advice office workers, and trade union office staff. In all about 25 people attended on both days. The course was designed to give basic information on trade unions and industrial relations, as well as interviewing skills and practical guides to unemployment insurance, worker's compensation and pensions.
