- This song is the original of the theme song for the film "Sanders of the river," which was made famous by Paul Robeson. Most of the river scenes with large Wagenya canoes holding 70 to 100 men were taken at this village above the Stanley falls by Zoltan Korda the producer of the film. In its English film version this song is known all over the world. Mr. Zoltan Korda himself confirmed this information and described the filming. The singers sing in parallel or organum, not unlike the songs of the Bemba people of Northern Rhodesia. Paddling song with large slit drum.
