- The research has provided valuable insight into the experiences of professional nurses regarding use of mobile technology for accessing health information at the point of care in clinical decision making at rural primary health clinics. The ability to access health information enabled them to render accurate and safe patient care. Recommendations were made with regard to nursing practice, education and research. Innovative strategies such as the use of mobile technology have been employed in order to access health information at the point of care for clinical decision making in 2012 in the rural primary health care clinics by the Department of Health in the Eastern Cape Province. Retrieval of information from mobile technology is perceived as being useful for clinical decision making and could result in positive patient outcomes. In this study the researcher explored and described the professional nurses’ experiences of using smart for accessing information in clinical decision making at rural primary health care clinics.
