- Description: The mbira is not used during the dance itself, but the melodies have been taken from the dance songs. The Mandowa acrobatic dance is very popular in the mine compounds of the Witswatersrand. The origin of all 4 tunes in the Makulane district, near Nova Mambone, which lies along the south of the mouth of the Sabi (or Save) river.
