- Description: Zimbabwean teacher educators are, by the nature of their job description, required to supervise student teachers doing teaching practicum for the 0-3 home based programme. However, analysis of supervision reports of the home based programme indicates some inconsistencies in comments made by different supervisors, whereby the descriptors and supervision overall scores do not tally. It seems the supervision of the home based teacher education programme is not being implemented as expected. Hence, the purpose of this qualitative case study was to examine practices and experiences of teacher educators in the supervision of a National Early Childhood Development Home Based Teacher Education Programme (NECDHBTEP). The objective of the study was to address the key question: ‘What are the practices and experiences of teacher educators in the supervision of a NECDHBTEP. In addressing the question, the researcher used supervision as a conceptual framework. The theoretical framework which informed the study was Contextual Supervision (CS) which has its philosophical foundations in constructivism, beneficence and justice. Purposive sampling was employed in the study where two primary teachers’ colleges were selected. From each college, ten teacher educators were selected for semi-structured interviews, two focus group discussions and document analysis on teacher educators’ supervision reports. Triangulation of the data was done so as to enhance its trustworthiness. Three major themes emerged from the study, namely, the influence of home context, experience of supervisors on NECDHBTEP and supervision approaches. The study discovered that the home context, to some extent, influences supervision of the NECDHBTEP. The study also established that teacher educators face multiple challenges when supervising student teachers on the ECD home based programme. The researcher made some recommendations from the findings. One of the recommendations was for colleges to develop a specific supervision instrument for the home based ECD supervision (0-3 years category). Furthermore, there is need for Zimbabwean primary teachers’ colleges to engage in rigorous in-service training for lecturers who are not knowledgeable about the NECDHBTEP.

- Description: This study focused on a lack of an Information Technology Risk Management (ITRM) framework tailored for provincial business entities to assist with the management of IT risks. The research was aimed at developing a tailored IT risk management framework that would assist provincial business entities with an effective ITRM process. This was achieved through identifying factors that constitute an ITRM framework, determining the current IT risk management methods used in provincial business entities and assessing the IT risk culture. This research study was conducted at the Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA), which is a provincial business entity in the Limpopo province. The objectives of the study were accomplished using a design science research approach which involved the creation of an artefact and design theory as a means to improve the current state of practice as well as existing research knowledge about provincial business entities and their management of IT risks. The Nelson Mandela University Design Science Methodology Framework (NMU-DSFM) was identified as the methodology to be followed to devise the contribution in the form of an artefact. It was found that the organisation does not have a positive IT risk culture. From the study of the data analysis performed, it was evident that provincial business entities have challenges associated with adequately identifying IT risks. The findings highlighted that for the proper management of risks, risk governance should be effective by ensuring that the board of directors takes the responsibility of IT risk management, and the essentials of risk governance were discussed at length. The research output for this study was a framework. The adoption of this framework may positively contribute to strengthening governance of IT risk management in the provincial business entities. Best practices were highlighted for ease of reference to determine what is required and how to implement this regarding IT risk management.

- Description: The adoption of e-learning by universities around the world has grown drastically during this time of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Most universities implement the full utilisation of e-learning, conducting classes only by using online course delivery. Some universities still prefer a blended learning approach where classes are presented to students using both the traditional way of teaching and online e-learning platforms. Walter Sisulu University (WSU) is one of those universities that uses blended learning. The university started using this approach in 2009, through a partnership between WSU and the Netherlands for learning and teaching enhancement using e-learning. The adoption and usage of e-learning in universities is a challenge, which some researchers have investigated. This study aimed to apply the Substitution; Augmentation; Modification; Redefinition (SAMR) Model to enhance the adoption of e-learning and its usage at WSU. To obtain results, a quantitative method using approaches, such as WiseUp logs, WiseUp e-learning usage publications, WSU e-learning documents and literature, was applied. The study, according to the WiseUp logs, found that the e-learning levels at the university were low. Using the WiseUp e-learning usage publications, revealed that the university was still having some challenges regarding the low usage of WiseUp. Some of the students were not aware of the WiseUp platform as they said the system was only shown to them once and never again for continuous training. Most lecturers’ challenge was that the system was time-consuming to upload online content. This study used the WSU e-learning documents to show that the institution employed some initiatives for the adoption and usage of WiseUp, such as the LTD (Learning Teaching Development) department orientating students about WiseUp, just after their registration. The study ‘s objective was achieved, which was to apply the Substitution; Augmentation; Modification; Redefinition (SAMR) Model to enhance the adoption and usage of e-learning at WSU. The study applied the Substitution; Augmentation; Modification; Redefinition (SAMR) Model to provide a clear understanding of WSU’s position in terms of e-learning adoption and usage. The overall result from the study showed that WSU was based mostly on the first three levels of teaching and learning integration into technology, and in the enhancement level of the Substitution; Augmentation; Modification; Redefinition (SAMR) Model. The researcher noted that much still needed to be done because the usage of the system was still very low but its integration into teaching and learning was positive.

- Description: The prevalence of medical identity theft continues to increase. This is a concern for medical aid members within the South African private healthcare sector. Medical identity theft can be caused by various individuals, including internal and external role players. The deceptions involved in medical identity theft can affect medical aid members, the healthcare industry, and medical aids. Medical aid members remain unaware that they are victims of medical identity theft until they receive high medical bills or are notified by their healthcare providers. This research study focused on the lack of awareness of medical identity theft among medical aid members. The main objective of this research study was to propose best practices that can be used to address medical aid members’ awareness of medical identity theft in the South African private healthcare sector. Sub-objectives were used to achieve the main objective. The first sub-objective was to identify the parties causing and the parties affected by medical identity theft. The second sub-objective was to determine the level of medical identity theft awareness among medical aid members in the South African private healthcare sector. The third sub-objective was to identify best practices to address medical identity theft awareness. The methodology used by this exploratory research study included a convergent mixed method design, which was used to obtain quantitative and qualitative data. Data collection was completed using a literature review and a questionnaire. Data analysis and reporting made use of a qualitative content analysis, descriptive statistics, and logical argumentation. Respondents’ answers to a questionnaire about their experiences with medical identity theft provided insight into South African medical aid members’ awareness of medical identity theft. The data gathered from the respondents was analysed, and themes emerged that emphasised a lack of awareness of medical identity theft among South African medical aid members. Twenty-six pre-emptive and nine retroactive best practices to address medical identity theft awareness were identified from existing literature. These best practices were cross-referenced to determine their relevance to the list of concerns about medical identity theft that emanated from the survey completed by South African medical aid members.

The introduction of Tourism as a school subject is perceived as a gateway to employment opportunities for unemployed people and as a means to stimulate the economy of the country. Educators, especially in South African township schools, often teach in less favourable conditions and experience many challenges which require innovative solutions. This study contributes to an understanding of the challenges faced by educators teaching Tourism, especially educators teaching in township areas in the Nelson Mandela Bay district. Of particular importance is the coping strategies used by these educators to innovatively deal with these challenges. This purpose of the study was therefore to investigate the challenges experienced by educators that teach Tourism at township high schools in two Circuit Management Centres (CMC) in the Nelson Mandela Bay district in Port Elizabeth. A qualitative research design was followed with interviews as the empirical data collecting tool. The sample consisted of 16 educators teaching Tourism to Grade 11 and 12 learners at selected schools. The data collected was analysed qualitatively, using thematic analysis. The findings of this study revealed many challenges experienced by educators of Tourism at township schools in the Nelson Mandela Bay district. The key challenges for educators related to resources, learners, the system, teachers and infrastructure. The results revealed that the educators used a variety of coping techniques to deal with these challenges. The researcher makes recommendations to the different stakeholders in education to address these challenges, as well as make suggestions for future research.

- Description: Solid waste management is particularly challenging in poor communities where socio-economic issues take precedence over keeping a clean environment. This study explores the effectiveness of community-driven waste management strategies that are implemented in Missionvale, a poverty-stricken township that forms part of the Nelson Mandela Metropole, located in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province. The aim of this qualitative study was to explore the sustainability of the community-driven waste management practices in the township. This was premised on the understanding that having the community at the centre of waste management is important and community initiatives coupled with support from key stakeholders, yields the desired outcome: sustainable waste management. The objectives of the study were: (i) to understand what happens to the solid waste generated in Missionvale; (ii) to assess the effects of the waste and its disposal (or lack thereof) in Missionvale; (iii) to identify the challenges faced by the public in implementing waste management initiatives for sustainable development; and (iv) to establish the waste management practices in Missionvale and their effectiveness. The study found that whilst waste management is a secondary, less important issue to community respondents who are struggling with more pressing socio-economic hurdles, there are nevertheless efforts from informal waste pickers, local businesses, non-governmental entities and some individual community members to keep their environment clean. This occurs against the backdrop of the municipality’s failure in its task to provide consistent waste collection and disposal.

- Description: E-commerce is penetrating emerging economies in sub-Saharan Africa as customers seek convenient shopping experiences that offer high quality products. This has led to the emergence of e-commerce, a borderless channel, which both regionally local and international retailers have exploited. The low income market segment of e-commerce customers has been found to be apprehensive of e-commerce due to trust concerns over card-mandating payment solutions, living a large unbanked market in developing economies excluded from the e-commerce experience due to a lack of inclusive electronic payment systems. Mobile payment systems offer a source of distinctive value for both merchants and consumers, thereby increasing the e-commerce market. Due to their high level of adoption, mobile payments are capable of providing a mode for reaching new market segments and opening opportunities to bring value propositions to segments that had been unreachable in the past. This study sought to uncover the perception of consumers in an emerging economy about the use of mobile payments as a mode of remittance in e-commerce transactions. This was done by describing the factors that influence the intention to use mobile payments on internet stores. The study also investigated the effect of demographic profile on intention and use in the South African context. An online questionnaire was developed and distributed to a convenience sample of retail consumers on social media platforms, and the collected data was analysed using the SPSS statistical package. The results confirmed that compatibility, personal innovativeness, perceived trust, perceived regulatory support, and promotional benefit have a direct influence to intention to use mobile payments as a mode of remittance for e-commerce transactions. Furthermore, social influence does not have a direct influence on intention to use mobile payments in the South African context. The results also revealed that, in South Africa, the largest population group, male and female gender groups do not differ in their opinion around mobile payments. The study findings illustrate the importance of context when considering technology innovation introduction to a new market. Despite social influence not being found to be a factor for intention to use mobile payments in the South African context, the same conclusion should not be generalised as it is contextual. Recommendations and conclusions were drawn from the discussion of the findings of this research.

The construction sector is no exception, this is because of its ability to cause harmful effects to the environment through waste generation, energy and water consumption and several other forms of damage to the environment. This has led to experts in the sustainability field calling for a need of sustainable ways of carrying out construction. In this study, information about the sustainability culture and perceptions that exist in Johannesburg was extracted from data gathered from questionnaires based on various types of qualifications, knowledge, and experience of respondents in transport infrastructure delivery. A transportation official understanding the need for sustainable transportation and wishing to do something about it may likely be unable to do so. This is due to the fact that authorities do not always have the mandate, responsibility, power, or support to make decisions that are consistent with sustainable development. It can be said that key issues to sustainability governance of transport infrastructure delivery are: a lack of policy; and a lack of awareness in government, private, and consulting organisations that focus on the delivery of transport infrastructure. The lack of sustainable infrastructure delivery models creates the need to determine the important factors impacting on the governance of sustainable delivery of transport infrastructure in Johannesburg. The matrix has revealed that there is a ‘Moderate’ familiarity and ‘Average’ understanding of sustainability governance as a concept. From the data collected, it is also clear that the current transport infrastructure in Johannesburg is ‘Moderately’ effective at serving its sustainability purpose. This study hopes to be the basis upon which ground-breaking methods to encourage sustainability governance strategies for transport infrastructure projects and further studies are predicated.

- Description: This treatise explores factors that drive customer participation in banking loyalty programmes in South Africa. The literature review conducted revealed research is required in this area. The lack of research in this field led to the formulation of the problem statement for the study, which focuses on critical factors that drive customer participation in banking loyalty programmes in South Africa. There have been numerous studies conducted on customer loyalty as a concept. There is, however, a lack of studies on customer loyalty in banking loyalty programmes. The literature review explored definitions of customer loyalty, how they pertain to loyalty programmes, with attitudes and behaviours identified as customer loyalty intermediate factors. This study has approached the assessment of customer loyalty in the banking loyalty programmes by exploring the factors that influence or drive customer participation in loyalty programmes in South Africa. The study was conducted using exploratory factor analysis of loyalty programme measurement items that evaluated attitudes and behaviours related to customer loyalty. The factor analysis was undertaken using data gathered from a self-administered online questionnaire. This treatise is part of a bigger study of loyalty programmes and customer loyalty in different sectors. The sample for this study was randomly selected using snowball and convenience sampling. A sample size of n=613 was used in this study. As part of the data analysis, descriptive statistics were used to compress and organise the sample data. Inferential statistics were used to project the findings of the sample data to the full population. The study concluded that flexibility in the context of rewards not expiring was the most important factor that consumers considered when deciding to participate in a banking loyalty programme. This was followed by reward type. The study revealed that banking loyalty programme customers prefer monetary rewards over all reward types for participation in banking loyalty programmes and thus reward type is deemed as a critical factor in customers’ decisions to participate in banking loyalty programmes. The study also found that banking loyalty programme customers do not perceive reward programme communication methods as an important factor influencing their decision to participate in a banking loyalty programme.

- Description: The Freight Logistics Industry underpins the efficient movement of freight goods globally and supports the South African economy by accounting for 80% of the movement of goods. While South Africa’s formal trade with the rest of the continent and the world has increased steadily over the years, the country is yet to make significant inroads in some of its larger and fast-growing economies. This is despite having a substantially more diversified economic base and relatively higher levels of technological advance-ment (Department of Research and Information, 2018). Complex challenges relating to transport infrastructure (roads, customs processes, sea- and airports, amongst others), determine the efficiency with which business can be done and therefore has a direct impact on the growth of the Freight Logistics Pro-vider (FLP) industry (Belfreight, 2016). Changes in the global business environment have also led FLP’s to diversity strate-gies, incorporating asset ownership on a small to large scale in order to cope with the ever-changing demands of customers. However, at its core, the FLP industry exists to manage the freight transport process. This study investigated, through interviews and surveys involving senior industry pro-fessionals; whether a service model for a successful FLP could be developed; one that did not require asset ownership. The empirical evidence gathered yielded a list of the top FLP services currently being used in business; together with the support structures and enablers for these services in the form of transport modes. A model was then developed based on these param-eters that would best suit a small to medium sized FLP for success. Success in this study proved to be non-tangible due to the limited information available in company and industry figures, however, indication of an optimal market by product was included in the developed model.

- Description: The purpose of this research study is to assess the extent that the Industrial Development Cooperation (IDC) of South Africa a Development Finance Institution (DFI), has contributed to the sustainable economic development of South Africa. The objective is to quantify the impact that is attributed to the IDC’s activities in South Africa in terms of socio-economic development contributing to sustainable economic development. Social development is fundamentally important in contributing to the economic development of any country. The research constituted the collection and quantitative analysis of data using reports from the IDC. The social output index modelling developed by the World Bank was used to analyse the data and make conclusive arguments regarding the impact that the IDC was having on economic development. The findings indicate that the IDC significantly lends less comparatively to lower income groups thus resulting in a negative contribution in terms of social developmental goals. Further the analysis through social output index model suggests that the IDC in as far as socio-development is concerned did not contributing positively to sustainable economic development between 2014 and 2018 reporting periods. The following recommendations are suggested: Increase awareness about the real impact of each investment across the IDC group, this will ensure that all proposals for investment are assessed with a component focusing on a socio-developmental perspective; reduce the number of mandates that the IDC currently has and establish broader frameworks for DFIs regardless of which government is in power or control.

Economic convergence among the SADC members

- Description: This study utilized beta convergence to investigate the catch-up process among the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for the period 1971 to 2017. The theoretical underpinning of this study was that of neoclassical economists, such as Solow (1956) and Barro and Sala-I-Martin (1990, 1991). Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rates and per capita growth rates were used to test for the convergence hypothesis. This study employed conventional unit root test which include the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test, Phillips Perron (PP) test and the Kwiatkowski Phillips Schmidt Shin (KPSS) test. As well the Dickey Fuller-GLS and NG-Perron modified unit root tests. In addition, the Lee-Strazicich (LS) and Zivot- Andrew (ZA) unit root tests were used to allow for structural breaks. The conventional and modified unit root tests showed that most countries show evidence of GDP growth convergence, the exception being on the KPSS unit root test. Furthermore, most countries showed evidence of convergence when classified according to income levels. Meanwhile, when the structural breaks unit root tests when performed there was a strong evidence of both GDP growth and GDP per capita growth rates. Except in a few cases of the Lee-Strazicich tests. Lastly, the Flexible Fourier Form (FFF) unit root test was performed following the Enders and Lee (2012) methodology. The t-statistics under the FFF test reveal that all members besides Congo and Zimbabwe converge towards the SADC average growth rates. Similarly, all lower-middle economies catch up to the upper-middle- and high-income level economies and upper-middle economies converge to Seychelles’ GDP growth rates. Whereas only Congo and Tanzania among the lower income economies converge toward the average GDP growth rates of the other countries. In addition, all members show evidence of per capita GDP convergence except when the test is performed in panel A. Based on the reported results, the paper recommends that measures should be put in place to aid non-converging member states, adoption of growth promoting policies and that there should be harsh consequences for countries that do not improve their growth rates.

- Description: Of recent carbon emissions have become an increasing concern for economies worldwide. The study investigates the relationship between carbon emissions and economic growth for the BICS (Brazil, India, China and South Africa), one of the largest emitters of carbon dioxide worldwide. ARDL methodology is employed which is applied to annual data covering a period of 1970 to 2017. The empirical results indicate there is a long run negative relationship between carbon emissions and economic growth. Overall results thus encourage policymakers to continue to embark on energy efficiency programmes which specifically target lower levels of carbon pollution.

- Description: Background: Soccer is the most popular sport worldwide with an estimated 270 million people involved in the sport. Soccer is a fast-paced contact team sport that requires physical capabilities such as speed, agility, strength, power, aerobic and anaerobic fitness in addition to technical proficiency. Most goals are preceded by a linear sprint, jump or change of direction which is why the ability to perform fast powerful movements is important. Research has indicated that resistance training performed in combination with high intensity speed and plyometric training, improves athletic performance of soccer players. Aims and Objectives: This study investigated the effects of a resistance training intervention on the physical fitness of youth in a rural soccer development programme in Addo in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Methodology: This study employed a quantitative approach in the form of a quasi-experimental design with an experimental and control group. The sample was conveniently selected based on availability of players and on them meeting specific inclusion criteria. Local soccer clubs in the Nomathamsanqa township - an impoverished area in Addo, which forms part of the Addo Soccer Development Programme (ASDP) - were invited to participate in the study. The final sample for this study consisted of 12 participants. A 10-week soccer-based resistance training intervention, addressing the components of physical fitness with specific emphasis on resistance training, was implemented after completion of the baseline testing. The intervention was designed to be suitable for a rural setting. Results: Within group comparisons revealed significant improvements in the experimental group for power (p = 0.028), speed (p = 0.028) and overall performance (grouped physical fitness measures) (p = 0.018) whereas the control group improved significantly in speed (p = 0.043) and regressed significantly in cardiovascular endurance (p = 0.043). Between group comparisons revealed significant differences for overall performance improvement in the experimental group (p = 0.006) and a reduction in cardiovascular endurance in the control group (p = 0.028). The main finding of this study is therefore this: that the individual parameters did not show consistent improvement when viewed in isolation, however that the intervention had a positive effect on overall performance when all the physical fitness measures were computed as a collective result. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that the intervention had a positive effect on overall performance however more research is required on soccer in rural and disadvantaged settings of South Africa to develop a convincing model for supplementary training other than conventional soccer practice to improve performance and to overcome the unique challenges faced in a rural setting.

- Description: The costs of operating buildings and facilities which the City of Tshwane utilises for conducting business have substantially increased due to the cost of electricity more than quadrupling in the past decade in South Africa, worsening the already constrained budgets. Research has shown that implementation of successful and sustainable energy management of built environment assets is effective in reducing costs due to resulting reduction in energy consumption and is therefore fitting to include it as an element of a financial efficiency strategy in organisations. This study aims to investigate how the City of Tshwane utilises energy management of its built environment assets to support financial efficiency and to make recommendations where necessary. Building on existing literature on energy management, it asks: How does the City of Tshwane utilise energy management of its built environment assets to support financial efficiency? In this context, energy management is defined as the continuous process of managing behavioural, organisational and technical change to improve an organisation’s energy performance. An instrument suitable for collecting qualitative data was constructed based on theories found in the reviewed literature. Interview participants were purposively sampled from departments which have direct influence on the energy management chain in the city. Relevant documents provided by the city were also reviewed to support triangulation of data. An analysis of data demonstrated that the city utilises energy management of its built environment assets to support financial efficiency. The results also indicated that there are several deficiencies in the manner in which the city currently manages energy. On this basis, it is recommended that the city installs meters for all energy consuming built environment assets; abandons the practice of accounting for energy costs as part of overheads and adopt the practice of direct costs accounting; and implements measures to review relevant strategy documents at planned intervals in order to ensure their continuing suitability.

- Description: This study sought to establish whether there are merits to the perceptions of lack of professional, personal and corporate ethics amongst Built Environment professionals in Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG), and to decipher the variance in the lack of ethics per built environment discipline. It also sought to propose ways to address the lack thereof, if it exists. The method that was utilised in this study is the quantitative research technique. Descriptive statistical techniques were used to analyse the data. The gathering of the primary data was done through the use of semi-structured questionnaires. The questionnaire was divided into three sections, with A being the demographical information, B the closed questions on the type of ethics (namely professional, personal and corporate) and C the open-ended questions on the type of ethics (namely professional, personal and corporate). This study has revealed that the lack of ethics amongst the professionals is marginal; but enforcement of the code of conduct and the willingness of senior management to address the ethical issues indeed varies per GPG department. The implications of the findings are that although unethical conduct is not rampant amongst built-environmental professionals in the Gauteng Provincial Government, it needs to be addressed and contained through mechanisms, such as training, the conducting of awareness campaigns and enforcement by senior management. If management can enforce the department’s code of conduct; and if professional bodies conduct awareness campaigns, the issue of unethical conduct could be reduced.

The level of employee engagement in South Africa according to the polls remains very low. On the other front, innovative ideas prove to be a vital element of organisational innovativeness and progress. Today’s business environment is unstable and to remain relevant in the marketplace, it is imperative for organisations to embrace innovation and become responsive to changing customer needs. South Africa’s population is very diverse coming second in diversity after the United States. The diversity of South Africa as a national endowment could be investigated to see if it could be leveraged to improve organisational innovation and effectiveness through work engagement. Being mindful of the fact that being diverse is not equal to being inclusive, inclusion is also investigated to see its effect on work engagement and organisational innovation. The principle of fairness (equity) was also investigated with relation to engagement and innovation. The purpose of the study is to assist organisations to improve employee engagement and organisational innovation by taking advantage of the national factor endowment of diversity and inclusion. Equity is investigated as an important principle that could possibly have an effect on employee engagement or organisational innovation. The findings were that diversity and inclusion have a significant relationship with employee engagement and organisational innovativeness while equity has a significant relationship with organisational innovativeness. Recommendations were therefore made to leaders of the organisations to embrace workforce diversity, inclusion and fairness in organisational structures and practices in order to realise improved employee engagement and organisational innovativeness.

- Description: The democratisation of knowledge in the schooling context includes the empowering of learners. Education/schools may be regarded as the key to obtaining equal, relevant and non-discriminatory knowledge. Thus, teachers play a vital role in ensuring that the democratisation of knowledge is encouraged in the classroom context. However, knowledge is not always accessible and equal to all individuals in society. A key policy challenge currently in South African schools is whether learners have meaningful access to education and whether effective teaching and learning is occurring in the classroom. Against this background, the purpose of this study was to create an awareness of the benefits as well as to investigate the challenges of the democratisation of knowledge. Furthermore, it aims to explore how teachers’ teaching can be enhanced in order to ensure that the democratisation of knowledge is effective in the classroom. A qualitative research approach was used to collect data from three selected public high schools in the Port Elizabeth area. This study was underpinned by a critical pedagogy theory guided by thought leaders such as Paulo Freire and John Dewey who were exponents of the democratisation of knowledge in education. The research findings indicate that curriculum demands, inadequate resources, a lack of guidance from the Department of Basic Education, socio-economic issues and a negative learner mindset hinder the democratisation of knowledge. In contrast, learner engagement, reconceptualising the curriculum, relevant resources, a supportive principal and school environment, teacher wellness, parental involvement and community connectedness support the democratisation of knowledge.
