- Description: A diviner arrived in person but declined to sing with the women who were all sitting around on the floor of the hut, about 80 of them. "Mamilambo" is said to be a spirit or charm in the shape of a snake, which the people buy from the diviners in order to obtain good luck and get rich-so it was explained. The married women were more soberly dressed than the young unmarried ones and wore their headclothes in the more usual Xhosa 'pile' of cloth on the head, producing a large loose turban-like effect. Diviner's song, with clapping.
